A presentation given at the European Association for the Study of Diabetes conference has examined genetic and environmental impacts on obesity.
Prof. Johnjoe McFadden, Professor of Molecular Genetics, University of Surrey, said:
“The research highlights the complexity of the interaction between genes and the environment and how little we know about the underlying mechanisms. It emphasises the importance of taking an holistic approach to obesity reduction rather than targeting any particular fad idea.”
