Debates continue to rage over how to keep Britain’s lights on, secure long-term energy supplies and build a low-carbon economy. Our energy system could undergo a significant transformation in coming decades. Does the public understand the need for energy system change? Have the debates around the impact of climate change encouraged scepticism, or is it still viewed as a significant threat? And how supportive is the public of controversial technologies such as new nuclear, wind turbines and electric vehicles?
The final synthesis report of a 30-month UK Energy Research Centre (UKERC) project led by a team based at Cardiff University was released at the SMC.
