Scotland real-world data on vaccine roll-out and hospitalisations

A study done by scientists at the University of Edinburgh, the University of Strathclyde, and Public Health Scotland has looked at hospitalisations in Scotland due to COVID-19 in people who have had their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine as part of the vaccine roll-out (with either the Pfizer or Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine) and in those who have not been vaccinated.

The study compares hospitalisation rates in those who have and have not had their first dose of the vaccine.

Journalists tuned in to this press briefing to hear the scientist describe their study and its findings.

Please note this data is a preprint, so it is early work that has not yet been through peer-review and is not published in a journal.
