scientists respond to bishops’ comments on hybrid embryos

Roman Catholic bishops urged that hybrid human-animal embryos be considered as human, and allowed to develop into children.

“I find the position of the bishops rather astounding because the egg comes from a non-human species, there is no mother, and moreover this would constitute reproductive cloning, which is illegal in most countries, including the UK.”
