reaction to the death of Lesley Brown, mother of the first IVF baby

The mother of the first baby born via IVF died after a short illness.

Sarah Norcross, Director of the Progress Educational Trust, said:

“Lesley Brown is never cited as a ‘pioneer’ of IVF but without her and others like her IVF would not now be a routine treatment in the UK and Nobel prizes would not have been won. Her participation in this experimental treatment has brought happiness to millions of families across the world.”
