The SMC was asked to run a briefing for science, health and tech journalists about the statistics released on the new NHS Test and Trace Service. The statistics cover the first 7 days of the service which began on Thursday 28 May. The experts on the panel have led the development of NHS Test and Trace, and contact tracing work, and were able to explain what the new stats show and what they mean for the ongoing national COVID-19 response.
