new modelling study looking at effectiveness of test & trace in avoiding a second wave when schools and society reopen

A modelling paper published  in the Lancet Child and Adolescent Health looked at scenarios of how well test & trace might need to work in order to avoid a possible second wave in winter when schools and more workplaces are open.

Journalists dialled in to this online briefing to hear the authors of the paper describe their study and what it suggests, and ask questions of them.

Speakers will include:

Dr Jasmina Panovska-Griffiths, Senior Research Fellow and Lecturer in Mathematical Modelling, Institute of Epidemiology & Health Care, UCL

Prof Chris Bonell, Professor of Public Health Sociology, London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM)

Prof Russell Viner, Professor of Adolescent Health at UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health
