Leaving Euratom, consequences for the UK’s energy future

The nuclear energy research community in the UK has been shell shocked to learn that the Prime Minister’s Brexit Bill will also trigger the UK’s exit from the European Atomic Energy Community (Euratom).  Scientists and companies in the nuclear energy community are calling on the Government to think again pointing out that leaving Euratom could undermine the UK’s nuclear research programme and its ability to build a new generation of nuclear power stations, critical to meeting the UK’s climate change goals.
