latest interim results from the REACT-1 study on COVID-19 spread across England

This briefing covered the latest interim data from the largest community coronavirus testing programme, REACT, which was published at midnight last night.  This batch of data included swab tests carried out on 80,000 people across England between 18 and 26 September 2020.  The study gives an estimate of prevalence of COVID-19 and of R, and has data on different age groups and regions of England.  This data is a preprint, so it is early work that has not yet been through peer-review and is not published in a journal.

Here is the preprint: https://www.imperial.ac.uk/media/imperial-college/institute-of-global-health-innovation/REACT1_12345_Interim-(1).pdf

Speakers included:

Prof Paul Elliott, FMedSci, Director of the REACT programme, and Chair in Epidemiology and Public Health Medicine, Imperial College London

Prof Steven Riley, Professor of Infectious Disease Dynamics, Imperial College London
