hospital acquisition of COVID-19 and its control

While hospital transmission of COVID-19 has been limited or eliminated in some countries, in England and elsewhere it has caused infection in staff, patients and residents in hospitals and care settings.  A report from Data Evaluation and Learning for Viral Epidemics (DELVE) a multi-disciplinary group convened by the Royal Society looks at current gaps and what further actions are needed to build comprehensive surveillance and infection control systems.

 

Speakers included:

Prof Dame Anne Johnson, Professor of Infectious Disease Epidemiology at University College London, Vice President of the Academy of Medical Sciences and a member of the DELVE committee

Dr Nigel Field, Chair of the DELVE working group who wrote the report and Director of the Centre of Molecular Epidemiology and Translational Research at the Institute for Global Health, University College London

Dr Guy Harling, Sir Henry Dale Senior Research Fellow, University College London
