Prof Hawking claimed in his latest book that there is no requirement for God in models of the origins of the universe.
Prof Jim Al-Khalili, Professor of Physics, University of Surrey, said:
“I agree with Prof Hawking that you don’t need God to set the Universe going. There may well be infinite parallel universes so ours is not so special. But I don’t share his enthusiasm for M-theory as the ultimate answer… Yet.”
