The State of the UK Climate 2025 report provides the latest comprehensive review of the UK’s changing climate based on observations from the land network of weather stations. It examines how the UK’s climate last year and the latest decade compare to previous years, including information on notable meteorological extremes through 2025 and how the UK extremes are changing over time. Additional sections in the report cover changes in river flows, sea level rise around the UK and nature’s response to the weather and climate.
The paper was published in the Royal Meteorological Society’s International Journal of Climatology on Wednesday 15 July.
Journalists came to this briefing to hear from the key organisations behind the report and put their questions to them.
