We recently heard from the REACT-1 scientists with interim results from round 8 of their study looking at virus prevalence across England. Now they have the full set of data in for this round.
This batch of data includes swab tests carried out on over 167,600 people across England (an extra 25,000 swabs added to those reported last week in the interim results) between 6 and 22 January 2021. The study gives an estimate of prevalence of COVID-19 and of R, and has data on different demographic groups and regions of England. Please note this data is a preprint, so it is early work that has not yet been through peer-review and is not published in a journal.
Speakers included:
Prof Paul Elliott, FMedSci, Director of the REACT programme, and Chair in Epidemiology and Public Health Medicine, Imperial College London
Prof Steven Riley, Professor of Infectious Disease Dynamics, Imperial College London
