Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs report on classification of cannabis

The Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs (ACMD) was asked by the Home Secretary in July 2007 to provide advice to the Government on the classification of Cannabis under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971. The resulting report, ‘Cannabis: Classification and Public Health’, was published on 7 May, and members of the Committee came to the SMC to brief journalists on their findings.
