A new report from the Institution of Civil Engineers entitled State of the Nation: Water outlined how the urgency and severity of the UK’s water issues is still not properly understood. The report gave UK water security just 4 out of 10, yet we only feel the ‘threat’ of water shortage when there is a hosepipe ban.
Following on from a previous SMC briefing on drought, the report’s authors spoke to journalists about water infrastructure and explained why the UK is not as secure as we think.
