announcement of medical charities’ joint letter to MPs on embryo bill

A spokesperson at the Association of Medical Research Charities (AMRC) made the following announcement concerning the publicisation of a letter sent to MPs by the AMRC and the Genetic Interest Group (GIG).

Dr Sophie Petit-Zeman, Head of External Relations at the AMRC, said:

“The AMRC and GIG wrote to all MPs last week urging them to accept the research provisions in the bill. We are announcing this now today, in light of significant coverage of the story in the last two days, to reiterate the overwhelming support in the scientific and patient communities for such work.”
